Ecological vulnerability assessment of the Ya’an-Qamdo section along the southern route of the Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor

Abstract Identifying the ecological vulnerability of sensitive and fragile ecosystem Ya’an-Qamdo section along southern route Sichuan-Tibet transport corridor is paramount importance to reduce environmental damage resulting from infrastructure construction. This paper divided into 22 subzones according their environment characteristics. Based on evaluation model established by fuzzy matter-element analysis method, eight main assessment indicators were windstorm, rainstorm, snowstorm, extreme temperature, air pressure, geological hazard, natural conditions, social resources. The rating ranking in each subzone based weight judgment indicators. Scientific processes used verify rationality both themselves weights. results this study show that 9, located subalpine cold humid forest scrubland zone, most vulnerable, 1, low- mid-land warm least vulnerable. conclusion suggests targeted measures protection should be formulated before development construction major transportation infrastructure. Construction evade vulnerable areas, in-depth research restoration carried out mid-vulnerability areas so can protected effectively for sustainable economic development.
